Wired Vs. Wireless Connection
When setting up your smart TV, it is important to consider whether to use a wired or wireless connection.
Using a wired connection, you will get the best performance when using streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime. However, in some instances it might not be convenient to setup a wired connection (e.g. Can't plug it in to an Ethernet port without a lot of additional cabling), this can affect the quality and speeds of streaming services to this device.
Setting Up a Wired Connection
To setup a wired connection, you will need an additional Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into an Ethernet port on your router, and plug the other end into the Ethernet port of your TV. Once connected the the cable is connected, from your TV menu, select Network Settings and enable Wired Internet. Directions may vary by TV manufacturer so please check the user guide for your specific TV.
Setting Up a Wireless Connection
On your TV menu, select Network Settings, and Set Up Wiressless Connection. Select the network name/SSID for your home network and enter the WPA Key (There is a label on your router with this information on). Again, directions may vary from TV and manufacturer so check the user guide for your TV.
Still Having Trouble?
It's always best to check the user manual or visit the manufacturer website for instructions for specific television sets.
